Non-Stop was never released as an album instead some of the tracks were later released on the compilation album La Mafia – 1991. There was also never an official release cover for the Non-Stop album either. This cover is my own creation of the Non-Stop album.

In January of 91′ Capitol/EMI purchased San Antonio-based Cara Records label, for an estimated $5 million which included all back catalogs and recordings and leasing contracts of its artists. Considered the “Motown of Tejano,” Cara Records rose to prominence in the late ’80s, producing top tejano artists like La Mafia.

La Mafia left the label to go to CBS Discos (Sony) but still was obligated to produce one more album to fulfill the old contract.

“When it happened, we were enraged, we owed them one more album under the old contract. We gave them a whole album of new material, like we always do. They kept four tracks and took the rest from an album of norteño music we’d been asked to do in 1985. They erased our instrumental tracks and built new ones behind Oscar’s voice. It’s not even La Mafia music.” – Mando

Non-Stop was never released as an album instead some of the tracks were later released on the compilation album “Mafia 1991”, more than half of which consists of vocal tracks recorded by Oscar released with overdubbed backing by San Antonio studio musicians.
