Awards - LA MAFIA.NET – (Legacy of Hits)

All these accomplishments and multiple demonstrations of support by the fans could not go unnoticed, and through logical order of events, awards and recognitions began to arrive. The first of these awards were the TEJANO MUSIC AWARDS.

They have 5 PREMIO LO NUESTRO, two that were presented for song of the year and group of the year. The ever popular FURIA MUSICAL magazine has also awarded the band on more than 5 occasions. The GLOBE award was presented to the band in New York city, also BILLBOARD MAGAZINE, in its millennium edition, awarded LA MAFIA with a special recognition for gaining the 8th position in the top 10 artists of all time, within all of the musical genres. This recognition was based on sales and number of weeks on the charts on this prestigious publication in which LA MAFIA’s hits still hold positions on the top of the lists. With regards to BILLBOARD, LA MAFIA is the only artist that has ever held the number one position on 3 separate categories simultaneously, (pop, tropical, and regional), demonstrating the reasons why the band is considered the best Latin band in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. The most sought after award, the Grammy, for which they have been nominated 6 consecutive times (1994 – 1999) in the different categories of the pop field and Mexican American Performance field, was realized after winning the award on 2 consecutive occasions in 1996 and in 1997.
